I assume that when people say they have an inner monologue, they do actually have pure nonverbal thoughts at a fundamental level, and their monologue is just a surface level thing, like the tip of an iceberg. As you can guess I do not have an internal monologue, but for reference, it's not that I can't subvocalize language - but it only automatically happens when I'm reading something, writing something, or thinking of what to say or write, otherwise it's just a pointless...
