I like software that gets to the point, and I have a distate towards software that intellectually underestimates the user through abstractions and oversimplification. That was a mouthful. Mesh refiner is a Charm++ chare array and is used to interface the mesh refinement object which does not know about parallelization and thus the distributed nature of the mesh it operates on, i.e., it operates on mesh chunks. Thus it does not do parallel communication and also does not know about global vs local IDs.

I think that my solution is the “safest” because you don't need a sim and no accounts and they are customizable. the disadvantage is that it is more complicated and costs more and you have to be in the vicinity regularly.
