You have to decide for yourself which is more essential to you and your users. I personally advocate more for free software than open source in general. You can read more about the principles of free software from the GNU project’s website . If you lean more towards the open source side of the spectrum, then read up the open source definition from OSI.

After a while I thought it would be nice to expand my ideas on a longer post. Free Software advocacy is important But… I don’t want to go that way, not as the main argument of this post at least. I swear there are practical and convenience reasons not to use discord, but I do have to be honest, I do align ideologically with free software.

This became more of a headache than I initially estimated - so it was dropped from this patch. My hope is to get something up-and-running in the near future, while avoiding the inclusion of yet another major dependency. Anyone more experienced than myself in the ways of “ auto rebuilds ” is free to open a patch if they so desire!
