Having an internal monologue looks so crippling that it's even hard to imagine it's an actual thing. What is it like to have your thoughts be confined to the tiny jail of language...? I assume that when people say they have an inner monologue, they do actually have pure nonverbal thoughts at a fundamental level, and their monologue is just a surface level thing, like the tip of an iceberg.
