If you want to have archives of the magnet links available for all content ever made they can always be hosted anonymously on darknet sites, so the cryptocurrency blockchain is unnecessary. Since the whole point in the LBRY blockhain was "even if the person who made the content is shut down, the magnet links will be preserved in the blockchain and therefore can't be cencored" however what I say is that a blockchain is not at all necessary for ensuring the magnet links survive.

I think limiting the term "dark web" to hidden sites is unnecessarily restrictive and pedantic. The original meaning of "darknet", before Tor co-opted it, was a network whose very existence was outside of your immediate neighbours was invisible. Usenet is almost a darknet, but the Path header provides visibility of network interconnections.
