This will be a short blog, because all I have to say is the following: Use progressive JPEGs, especially if you serve your content over Tor or I2P! Since when did we stop using them? I remember PJPEG were all over the net in the 00s, and rightly so; progressive JPEG gives your website a faster LCP (Largest Contentful Paint), even with a limited bandwidth.

It's actually really fun to tell people higher up on the totem pole about your specific needs and to be told that they're valid and heard. This is not my experience with the Linux userbase.
