I think that one of the United Nation languages would probably be the most likely candidates (Russian, Spanish, French, Mandarin, and Modern Standard Arabic.) Their position in the UN gives them political and economic precedent that make them, in my opinion, the most likely to be chosen by individuals, companies, and governments.
