There are already many things I’ve managed to do with my new dedicated server that I couldn’t even begin to dream of doing with my old server. For example, I’m hosting my own authoritative name server for DNS queries, and my email server can send mails without any explicit relay server whatsoever. All these things are thanks to a static IP address, reverse DNS , and full control over the firewall rules; none of which were possible before.

It's not like there's literally nothing here. Just not a lot of sites of interest to me. There seems to be a bit of a chicken and egg problem going on here.
