I still mainly host for fun and as a way to keep learning, but another strong driving force is just the ability to give privacy to people by allowing them use the things I host.

I came from P2P like more people probably do nowdays, reputable private trackers usually have good internal release groups for movie/tv content.

My server isn't very good for seeding on the clearnet, since I can't port forward, so it would be difficult for people to connect to it. I'd need to set up another torrent client too (or do more dev, we're using pure code to just download from the clearnet).

I kind of agree, but the same applies also to DNS(Domain name system) on the clearnet, why do people not link with the IP-Address (v6 or v4) of the server, but the domain name on the web? Ease of use? The certificate shit, you need to update your certificate often with some 3rd party, is getting annoying, but is needed for the clearweb to function nowadays. simp.i2p has a great explainer on addressbook safety yet another colection of second-level i2p domains
