Many of these especially the minidv we had from the 90's looks dvd/hd quality which is kind of insane and even the analog 8mm really are shocking how great they look if only people took the time to dedicate taking care of their tapes, using clean heads, proper capture software and using PCM 161e audio and FFV1 for video codec for proper archiving.

RN standalone does not mean portable app... the standalone ones are made mainly for users of i2pd dr|z3d mareki2p: maybe in some scenarios it's less than ideal. dr|z3d wouldn't take much to allow configuration of a custom tmp dir, or use a tmp dir inside the i2psnark dir and delete the contents at startup.
