I don't know how to easily get >16 with other clients, but there's no limit to the number of outbound tunnels. lately i've been reducing the number since per tunnel speeds are higher, and inbound tunnels carry more overhead, so i keep those low. on snark i assume 3 tunnels maxes around 1M/s up.
