Personally I don't care if it's decimal or binary, as long as the k/Ki, M/Mi G/Gi are used as they are defined: k=1000, Ki=1024, M=1000*1000, Mi=1024*1024, G=1000*1000*1000, Gi=1024*1024*1024. So if the front page says "5 MB/s" this is "5*1000*1000 byte per second".
