Your regular proxy settings are honored in firefox-default, i2p proxy settings are honored in(usually) firefox-container-6. I2P tabs will never re-isolate into Tor Tabs to complete .onion requests, nor will Onion tabs similarly re-isolate into I2P tabs to similarly weaken Tor. Applications also get their own container tabs.

It would be better to use the human-readable name of the website and a .b32.i2p link. My comment on this: tor only has cryptic onion addresses, and it seems to work for the tor net anyways? But sites collecting onion links like onion wikis are needed for site discovery anyways, trust into these aggregators is assumed, why not bunble that with a domain some name registry?
