That's a real problem – liberals misinterpret and abuse progressive ideas to the point they're objectively ridiculous, and people who rightfully critique it but with broad, untargeted strokes might get lumped in with the racist and crypto-racist shitbags using the same caveats ("I'm not racist but") as cover.
Honestly, would be nice if there were resources or an effort to teach people how to spot people they agree with who just use clumsy offensive language to express it.
