It took more than a day to scan the whole drive. In total PhotoRec had recovered 700,000 some odd files.
There was a mix of txt, elf, gz, jpg, png and mp3 files with a smattering of other types. Judging by the number of Debian logo files recovered, someone had installed Debian a couple of times on this drive,
which would explain all the elf files.
