They literally invented some of the worst practices in the industry to date, and give less of a shit about these games now and run them as cash grabs with the occasional scam tournament to keep the scene going. I personally stopped playing CS since it got too boring for me. I feel increasingly backed into a corner between the built-in surveillance, Copilot/Recall stuff, and the Microsoft account and subscription scam. For now, a lot of it can be disabled or stepped over. Assuming I successfully disabled half of it, though, I expect Microsoft to simply pull their usual shit a few months from now and quietly re-enable it all.
